Beamsplitters are optical components designed to divide or combine light with controlled ratios across specific wavelengths. Used in applications such as interferometers, they are typically designed to be either polarizing or non-polarizing, and in either plate (air immersion) or cube (glass immersion) configuration, depending on use case. Custom beamsplitters can be made in a variety of substrates and geometries to meet exact spectral, angular, and wavefront requirements.
PFG's evaporated (e-beam) coating process is especially well suited for beamsplitters, delivering spectral performance with very low stress, yielding exceptionally low wavefront error. In addition, PFG's optical cementing methodology regularly yields cube and rhomboid configuration beamsplitters with beam deviation < 10 arcseconds, even at high volume production.
