Precision Mirrors

PFG's precision mirrors are engineered to deliver high reflectivity, durability, and minimal wavefront error. Dielectric mirrors provide high efficiency and durability for laser and narrowband applications, while metallic mirrors offer broadband performance and wider angular performance. Choose of mirror materials depends on application, spectral, and durability requirements.

Expertise in Precision Mirror Manufacturing

Precision mirror fabrication and coating require tight control of surface figure, roughness, and coating uniformity to achieve consistent optical performance. Advanced polishing techniques ensure the required flatness or curvature, while carefully engineered dielectric and metallic coatings deliver the desired reflectivity, bandwidth, and environmental durability. Combined with rigorous in-house metrology, this integrated approach ensures mirrors meet demanding performance requirements for high-precision optical systems.

Custom Mirror Configurations

PFG specializes in manufacturing precision optical components in a range of geometries, supporting a broad range of materials from ultraviolet to mid-wave infrared (MWIR) applications. Here are some common mirror configurations:

three mirrors

Metallic Mirror

Metallic mirrors provide broadband reflectivity with excellent angle tolerance, making them ideal for applications requiring wide spectral coverage. Commonly coated with aluminum, silver, or gold, they offer reliable performance across visible and infrared wavelengths.
three dielectric mirrors

Dielectric Mirrors

Dielectric mirrors use multilayer thin-film coatings to achieve very high reflectivity at specific wavelengths. They offer excellent durability, low absorption, and high laser damage resistance.

reflector prism

Monolithic Reflectors

Prisms with mirrored faces become monolithic reflectors, greatly simplifying alignment in an optical system. This type of reflector can be used for beam pickoff and beam separation applications as well.
