PFG spherical lenses deliver the performance that today’s most advanced optical systems demand. Engineered for excellence in applications such as defense, aerospace, and imaging, every lens is produced in our fully integrated U.S. facility, where fabrication, metrology, coating, and assembly come together under one roof for total process control.
Custom precision optical lenses are essential components in imaging, sensing, laser systems, and much more across the photonics landscape. Designed to focus, collimate, or otherwise shape light with exceptional accuracy, spherical lenses are fundamental to many optical systems.
Unlike catalog optics, custom lenses are built to your exact specifications, including material, coating, and geometric needs. This ensures optimal performance, seamless system integration, and consistent quality. Custom lenses also allow for Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) optimization as well as supply chain resilience.
There's a reason your optical designers and supply chain experts know and trust PFG Precision Optics.

PFG specializes in manufacturing precision optical components in a range of geometries, supporting a broad range of materials from ultraviolet to mid-wave infrared (MWIR) applications. Here are some of the most common lens configurations:
Bi-Convex/Concave lenses have two spherical surfaces and are generally used as part of a set of lenses in an imaging application.
Meniscus lenses have one convex and one concave side. They can have overall positive or negative power, depending on the radii chosen.
Large lenses are lenses exceeding 150mm in diameter. Special manufacturing processes for large optics include CNC or pitch polishing as well as large aperture metrology. PFG's large optics are ideal for high-energy laser systems, telescopes, beam expanders, and imaging assemblies.
